Stanwell (Surrey)

Getting About

Stanwell is well connected by road but does not have a railway station. The bus services offer regular routes to all of the neighbouring towns and Heathrow Airport. The area is also well sign posted for cyclists and is relatively flat.

Road users have three main routes in and around Stanwell. The first runs through Stanwell Village and provides access from the M25 & Southern Perimeter road of Heathrow Airport. This route, through the village, is sometimes by M25 traffic going to Heathrow Airport and vice versa. This can lead to some congestion in the village.

The second main road route is from the A30, through Clare Road and connects through to the Southern Perimeter road of Heathrow Airport. Again this can be used as a short cut by traffic accessing Heathrow Airport.

The third road route is the link road that separates Stanwell Moor from Stanwell Village. Strictly speaking it runs through the area rather than guide traffic into Stanwell. The link road joins the A30 and A308 to the A4, which runs along the north side of Heathrow. The link road also provides access to the M25 which is meant to prevent traffic using a back route through Stanwell Moor.

The nearest rail link is Ashford Station, which offers regular services to London Waterloo, Reading and Weybridge. The services can be slow, stopping at nearly every station, and faster services run from Staines or Feltham stations.
