Town Suburbs
Staines does not have any Suburbs in the true sense of the word but a few areas are worth mentioning.
Knowle Green Located in the east part of Staines, Knowle Green is a large residential area reaching the border with Ashford. The area is most well known for being the home of Spelthorne Borough Council, the Spelthorne Leisure Centre and the Matthew Arnold School. The main road through the area, Kingston Road, is a back way for local traffic between Staines and Ashford.
Laleham Village This is a riverside community located to the south of Staines and dates back to before the 10th century. It has three main roads linking it to Staines, Ashford and Shepperton. The village has a historic church, a primary school, a village hall and large sports ground which is now home to the Staines Lammas Football Club.
Laleham Abbey is located in the southern part of the village and was a built in the 18th century as a family home. Part of Abbey's grounds have been given over for public use whilst the remainder remains as private dwellings.
