Shepperton (Surrey)

Town Suburbs

Shepperton has three areas worth mentioning, Shepperton Green, Shepperton Village and the modern day area around the High Street.

Shepperton Green
This area lies to the north west of Shepperton and is cut off from the other parts of the town by the M3 motorway. The area is home to nearly 40% of the local residents and also Shepperton Studios.

Shepperton Village
Shepperton Village is the original location of Shepperton and dates back to the Doomsday book. The area is located on the banks of the River Thames, to the south of Shepperton High Street. It has a definite village feel with an old church and a square which is home to a number of pubs, restaurants and hotels. Due to its historic importance, some of the village have been designated a conservation area.

The High Street Area
This area is the modern day part of the town. Its main features are the High Street which runs for about half a mile, the mainline railway station and a number of schools. To the east of the High Street is the main residential area of Shepperton which extends as far as Lower Haliford, on the border with Walton.
