Shepperton (Surrey)

Welcome to the Local Area Guide for Shepperton

Shepperton is located on the banks of the River Thames, opposite Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge. The town is relatively small in size and was recorded as being a farming settlement in the 5th century.

The original location of Shepperton is the area now known as Shepperton Village. Its historical importance and the style of buildings have led to this part of the town being classified as a conservation area. Modern day Shepperton is located to the north of Shepperton Village and came about due to the construction of a rail terminal in 1864.

Shepperton offers a relaxed and pleasant retreat for those working in London and at the nearby Heathrow Airport. The town, although residential in places, is quite green and there is easy access to the River Thames.
